Mockingjay

Mockingjay (The Hunger Games, #3)Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

THIS. BOOK. WAS. SO. GOOD!

description

The story starts some time after the second book (Catching Fire) ended and much have to be explained. District 12 was destroyed and the few that escaped have started living in District 13. District 13, said to be destroyed during the last rebellion, has survived underground, and they are the key players of this new uprising and soon to come full scale rebellion.

Katniss is thrown into this world without knowing who to trust. There are those who she used to trust that lied and those she never trusted that are now her allies. The world stopped being black and white.

But she knows what she wants to do - rescue Peeta and kill Snow.

~

This have to be one of the best book series I've read in a while. Or, well, at least in this age group. City of Bones and Divergent were rubbish. So if anybody want to read a really good book with a female lead, read the Hunger Games series.

The Hunger Games

The Hunger Games (The Hunger Games, #1)The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The first book. What a book it was! I can't wait to read the second!

I actually saw the (first two) movie(s) first and had a friend who told me I was an idiot for not have read the books. So I promised her that before the last one I'd have read them all.

I love how the movie stayed true to the story, even if the story in the book was better (it always is, except for in Divergent (Hows that even possible??)).
But back to the book. I feel that I can identify with Katniss on some levels. I don't think I'll ever be as brave as her or as good at surviving, but something in her personality seems familiar (mostly the confusion around feelings). I think this feeling of similarity is very important. Without it a book looses almost all of its charm.
When talking about Peeta all I can say is "Where can I buy one?" He's got many of the qualities I think all girls want in a boy.

Going on the to other important characters.
Haymitch, I love him. He's just... I don't know. He's just easy to like, the drunk bastard.
Effie is somewhat annoying. She's a little over the top but I like that we readers get this close to someone from the Capitol.
Gale. He's role isn't big but it is big enough that you know he will play an important part before the end.

I don't think I've got much more to say... Except, I love how the Capitol makes fun of Hollywood. That's it.

THE ART OF SPELL CASTING

THE ART OF SPELL CASTING: witchcraft spells, witch craft, how to do witchcraft, black magic, spells that work, wicca spells, wicca for beginnersTHE ART OF SPELL CASTING: witchcraft spells, witch craft, how to do witchcraft, black magic, spells that work, wicca spells, wicca for beginners by RONALD ROGAN
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Recently I've taken an interest in Wicca and witchcraft (they're not the same) and I wanted to read something for a real beginner, and this really was it.
It explains the basics well. Everything from the spellcasting to diffrent forms of magic. There is also some histroy. Everything is easily written and I read the book in no time at all. It really gave me a good basic knowledge and made me want to know more.

All interested in witchcraft should read this book.

Insurgent

Insurgent (Divergent, #2)Insurgent by Veronica Roth
My rating: 1 of 5 stars

THE TORTURE IS OVER! I'M DONE READING IT!

description

This book was so bad. It felt like nothing was happening and Tris just made stupid decisions and thinks she's so brave. The trauma after killing Will just feels... Well boring. <- me being cold hearted

I honestly don't understand how it can have a rating of over four stars. It's simply not worth it. But then again, most of the well written books have under four stars. Strange, I know.

I don't even want to start with everything that's bad about this book. (it's everything) Just know that you don't have to spend your time with this kind of crap.

Since I bought the whole series I'll have to read it (and then sell it). So look forward to the grand finale -.-

Missions of Love, Vol. 02

Missions of Love, Vol. 2Missions of Love, Vol. 2 by Ema Tōyama
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The love story continues...

Yukina continues to give Shigure missions, even though he has found out her weakness. Shigure gets enough and pushes her over the line. Then Akira steps in and starts something completely new.
Akira's actions makes Shigure question his own feelings and out of nowhere they (Yukina, Shigure and Akira) find themselves in a triangle drama. What will happen next?

How Tōyama writes and draws really captures me. The story takes a grip and won't let you go. And the art... I love their eyes!
